Child/Adolescent

Not all children grow from infancy through their adolescent years without experiencing some bumps along the way. It’s a tough period – differentiating oneself from the family, navigating social relationships, self-esteem and body image, academic pressure, and anxiety about what lies ahead. These stressors are difficult for an adult to handle – but for a child it can feel overwhelming.

I provide my patients with a comfortable environment within which they feel safe to share their thoughts and fears. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach that focuses on helping children identify the connection between thoughts, behaviors, and actions.

Parents and caregivers are a critical part of the treatment plan, as are other professionals involved in your child’s care.  Confidentially is critical yet parents never feel uninformed about their child’s progress.
